Charlotte McElroy BSc (Hons)

BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour - June 2021

Charlotte always loved animals growing up so after completing her high school studies she started out studying Animal Management in 2016 for 2 years at Glynllifon college near Caernarfon, Wales. She worked regularly in the animal park which houses many species including owls, goats, ducks, hedgehogs, chinchillas, axolotls, and a full operational dog grooming room with kennels where students would bring their dogs in. She also worked with horses in the stables and on the farm with cows, sheep and pigs.

During this time she also volunteered at Bryn-Y-Maen RSPCA animal centre working in the kennels, cattery and small animal unit with many abused and neglected animals being rehabilitated for their new lives.

Charlotte then went on to University of Chester in Chester, England in 2018 to study her Bachelor's of Science (With Honours) in Animal Behaviour for 3 years. After graduating she decided to set up her business to help other dogs and humans overcome their challenges and unlock the strong bond like she and her heart dog share.

Shadow Loyal Canine of Wales TDCH

Shadow is a Border Collie born on a small farm in Wales with the intention to go off to another farm like his two sisters to work herding sheep. He came into Charlotte's life at 8 weeks old and raised him while learning along the way. He supported her through all of her animal studies and now is by her side helping other humans and their dogs.

Shadow used to be severely reactive to moving traffic, dogs, prams/strollers and bicycles. Overcoming his reactivity together was the final push that created Charlotte & Shadow because she fell in love with dog training and wanted to focus on that instead of other animal jobs.

Now Shadow is a trick dog champion and currently learning disc moves for freestyle competitions in the future. You will see him a lot in our virtual training sessions!
